The Mercury-class was a Federation Starfleet shuttlecraft in service during the 2310s. Faster than a standard shuttlecraft, the Mercury-class was capable of high warp speeds, allowing it to operate as a courier or transport.
In the year 2319, Starfleet Operations assigned two Mercury-class shuttles to Helaspont Station for the purpose of transporting dignitaries and small, important shipments to and from the space station. (ST - The Lost Era novel: One Constant Star)
