Meredith Cutler was a female Human serving in the Federation Starfleet in the 23rd century.
Biography[]
By 2289, Cutler had reached the rank of lieutenant commander. That year, she was serving as chief of security aboard the USS Excelsior and a close friend of its commanding officer, Captain Lawrence Styles. He was going to promote her to first officer of the Excelsior, but Starfleet assigned Commander Hikaru Sulu to that posting before Styles could complete the promotion.
She was promoted to first officer by Captain Sulu following Styles' death and served him well in that position. She eventually transferred off the Excelsior and was eventually succeeded by Pavel Chekov as first officer after several others served in that position. (ST novel: Excelsior: Forged in Fire)
