Metcalfe was a human male alive during the 23rd century. A physician, he was a member of the United Federation of Planets Starfleet.

Biography[]

By the late 23rd century, Doctor Metcalfe was an older man, completely bald, with a graying beard. In the year 2294 Doctor Metcalfe was the chief medical officer of the USS Enterprise-B, having arrived after the disastrous first launch of the Enterprise in which retired Captain James T. Kirk had apparently died. When Ensign Demora Sulu was apparently killed at the hands of Captain John Harriman, Doctor Metcalfe was forced to conduct an autopsy on Sulu's remains. (TOS novel: The Captain's Daughter)
