Miaplacidus V was a planet, the fifth planet of the Beta Carinae system, and was located within Miaplacidan Alliance space in the galaxy's Beta Quadrant.
History and specifics[]
The planet had continents, oceans, and a breathable atmosphere. Its surface was somewhat inhospitable, with naturally-occurring lava pools, crevices and jutting rock formations. Some of the rocks were laden with magnesium.
The planet's only inhabitants resided in a penal colony, and had been convicted of the death penalty on Miaplacidus II.
In 2274, a landing party from the starship USS Enterprise landed on the surface aboard a replica of a Miaplacidan shuttlecraft to rescue Tak Markessan, a Starfleet commodore's son. (TOS comic: "The Quality of Mercy")
