In 2376 Gold transferred to the USS Trident as senior conn officer serving under both Captain Elizabeth Shelby and Captain Katerina Mueller. (Star Trek: New Frontier series)
He was killed in 2380 during an attack by the Brethren. (NF novel: Treason)
