The Mikhal Travelers were a nomadic species that lived in the Delta Quadrant. They had no real governing structure and travelled around in small, high warp capable vessels that carried only a pilot and a navigator. They also maintained small outposts that functioned as supply depots.
In 2373, USS Voyager encountered the Mikhal when they stopped at one of the Mikhal's supply depots to gather information. (VOY episode: "Darkling")
Alternate timeline
In an alternate timeline, Chakotay sarcastically suggested to Captain Janeway that Voyager's could stay with the Mikhal instead of the Vostigye. (Star Trek: Myriad Universes novel: Places of Exile)
