Minister for Insurance Regulation was briefly a title within the Botchok Planetary Congress (BPC), the government of the Orion homeworld of Botchok and the alleged government of the Orion Colonies. The minister was responsible for regulating insurance, but was unrelated to the Minister for Insurance Claims or the Minister for Insurance Writing.

After the Federation sent its first diplomatic delegation to Botchok on reference stardate 0/9101.13 (c. 2163), it became confused by the BPC's lack of specific roles for its members, even for important tasks, and the arguments over who took responsibility, credit, and blame. The embassy insisted on some sort of order and suggested certain officers with specific titles doing defined work.

The idea was surprisingly popular and for over a year the BPC merrily assigned Ministers for ever smaller and more ridiculous tasks, including the Minister for Insurance Regulation. The appointment of joke ministers decreased after the Commission for the Nomination of a Pooh-bah and the fun wore off. (FASA RPG module: The Orions: Book of Common Knowledge)
