Miral (also known as Prabsa) was a Klingon female who lived during the 24th century. She was the daughter of L'Naan, the mother of B'Elanna Torres and the former wife of John Torres. Miral and John separated when B'Elanna was about five. The break-up was due to Miral's strict Klingon beliefs, which also caused a rift between her and B'Elanna. B'Elanna blamed her mother for the broken marriage and never forgave her for it. The last time that she contacted her mother in 2366, she was living on Qo'noS. (VOY episodes: "Lineage", "Eye of the Needle")

When B'Elanna lapsed into a coma after her shuttle was hit by an ion storm in 2376, she found herself on the Barge of the Dead on her way to Gre'thor (the Klingon version of Hell). During the trip another dishonored soul appeared to her: her mother, Miral, who, according to Klingon religious beliefs, had to pay for the sins of her daughter. When B'Elanna awoke, she was determined to save her mother. She convinced Captain Kathryn Janeway to let the Doctor put her back into a near death coma.

B'Elanna arrived again on the Barge and tried to perform a ritual that would send Miral to Sto-vo-kor. It failed and B'Elanna realized that the only way to save Miral was to die for her and take her place in Gre'thor. She did this and Miral ascended to Sto-vo-kor, as B'Elanna was led into Gre'thor.

Miral then appeared to B'Elanna again, telling her that she could be saved if B'Elanna lived with honor. Just then, the Doctor woke B'Elanna from her coma. Before being revived, Miral told B'Elanna that she may see her when she joins Sto-vo-kor herself, or when she returned home to the Alpha Quadrant. (VOY episode: "Barge of the Dead")

Startrek.com states outright that Miral died in 2376.

In 2377, Miral would have her granddaughter, Miral Paris, named in her honor. (VOY episode: "Endgame")

When the USS Voyager returned to the Alpha Quadrant that year, B'Elanna then went to the planet Boreth to find her mother. She eventually found her, and the two began rapprochement, when Miral was mortally wounded by a wild animal. This animal was the mother of a younger animal which B'Elanna had hunted for food. The mother had stalked B'Elanna for some time until it eventually attacked the two women. After killing the animal, Miral then asked her daughter to perform the hegh'bat. Knowing that the only other outcome was her mother suffering a slow, painful death, a heartbroken B'Elanna carried out her wishes. In the novel Pathways, Miral is misnamed as "Prabsa."
