Commander Mirek was a female Romulan, the sister of the female Romulan Commander Liviana Charvanek, and the niece of famed commander-general Ael i-Mhiessan t'Rllaillieu and Emperor Shiarkiek, sister-in-law of Praetor Devoras Narviat and cousin of Tafv.
Mirek held a grudge against Captain James T. Kirk and the USS Enterprise for her sister's capture, her family's disgrace, and the theft of a top-secret cloaking device. She tried to find an excuse to seek vengeance against Kirk and his crew during a routine inspection of the Neutral Zone, but when the opportunity arrived she was foiled by a distortion field caused by the destruction of the USS Confederate. Cursing Kirk to the bitter end, she and her crew lived to fight another day. (TOS - Unlimited comic: "None But the Brave")
