Missouri is a region of the North American continent on the planet Earth, with boundaries that were created as the area was settled as a geopolitical subdivision of the United States of America nation.

The city of St. Louis, where Beverly and Wesley Crusher lived for several years in the 2350s, was in Missouri. (TNG episode: "Data's Day", TNG novel: Losing the Peace)
