Mogadishu is the capital city of Somalia, a division of the African Confederation, on Earth.
Once torn apart by civil war and anarchy, Mogadishu had become a prosperous metropolis by the 24th century. One of its high schools was Zefram Cochrane High School, the alma mater of Federation Starfleet Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge. (TNG novel: Losing the Peace)
