Moira was the designation of an artificial intelligence used aboard the USS Enterprise in the late 23rd century.

Enterprise recreation officer Harb Tanzer used Moira to help develop such entertainments as four-dimensional chess, computerized battle simulations, and projecting old two-dimensional holo's for viewing. (TOS novel: My Enemy, My Ally) She is one that told Harb Tanzer, about running out wrong stuff for onion dip, just as James T. Kirk, said we are out of dip.

Dr. McCoy once even utilized Moira to secretly gain access to planetary computers of the Vulcan government. She found that much of her complex algorithm coding, written partially by Spock, was based on work that Sarek wrote. As she understood unethical behavior, Kirk told her not to do it again, but asked her to talk to him about a raise. (TOS novel: Spock's World)
