Inspired to enter Starfleet due to the disappearance of her grandfather and the rest of the crew of the U.S.S. Coronado, Cadet Monica Lynne was bright, fit, and driven. Perhaps too driven: plagued by reading of her grandfather's self doubt in his diaries, she pursued a a dangerous course. In 2254 she began taking performance enhancing genetic procedures from San Francisco's unscrupulous Dr. Schaeffer. To strive for perfection she increased her strength and stamina to greater than human levels. She was known to survive what would otherwise be deadly falls, saving fellow first year Cadet (and love interest) Jim Kirk from a terminal fall from the Golden Gate Bridge in 2255. Lynne broke up with Kirk following Dr. Schaeffer's arrest several months into the school year.
