Morris was a Human man who served as an officer in Starfleet in the sciences division aboard the USS Enterprise in the mid-2260s.
History[]
In 2265, Morris was a relief science officer. He manned the science station on the bridge of the Enterprise while Spock was on the surface of the planet Tendar IV. When the landing party was incarcerated, Morris was assigned to locate their life signs to beam them back to the ship. Unfortunately, he was unable to discern Human life signs from Tendarans in the capital city prison. He was trying to isolate Vulcan life signs, but interference from local communications, the structure, and the dense prisoner population of two million made it nearly impossible. The landing party managed to escape confinement and signal the ship from prison leader Cote's office. (TOS comic: "Prisoners")
- Morris wore a sciences division uniform with one rank stripe, which in 2265 denoted officers with a rank of lieutenant, lieutenant commander or commander. Given that he was part of Spock's staff and would most likely be of a lower rank than Spock, Morris was a lieutenant. (Federation Starfleet ranks (2240s-2260s))
