In the year 2293 it contained an orbital listening post that monitored vessels in the Neutral Zone vicinity. To acquire safe passage, USS Enterprise-A masqueraded as, "thy mighty Klingon freighter Ursva", en route to Rura Penthe, on a bio-quarantine of materials and goods. In 2346 it was the location of the Romulan ruse that led the Klingon fleet away from Khitomer. (TLE novel: The Art of the Impossible)
