A mossek.

A mossek is a horned mammalian animal lifeform native to the planet Bira III.

History and specifics[]

Mosseks resemble an Earth lion, with orange fur, long fanged teeth, and a musculed body. Their feet have three long talons. Mosseks inhabit jungles in the hemisphere native to the tribal Garda. In the 23rd century, they were feared as the deadliest of jungle predators.

Garda legends foretold that the deity Ibar the Magnificent would make his appearance known by subduing a mossek without the use of a weapon.

History[]

In 2270, while escaping a Stoyak prison facility on Bira III, Spock and Netuya encountered a mossek in the surrounding jungle. When Spock knocked out the mossek with one punch, Netuya recalled the legends. After reuniting with Garda tribesmen, Netuya proclaimed Spock the personification of their deity and ruler of his people. (TOS comic: "A World Against Itself")
