Moute was a small village located on the outskirts of the city of Calhoun on the planet Xenex, and was connected to the larger city by a single road.

On a hot day in 2351, Danteri tax collector Stener and his escort began traveling to Moute after leaving Calhoun. While en route, they were attacked by the Xenexian rebel, M'k'n'zy of Calhoun. Although Stener survived, one of his soldiers was killed in the resulting swordfight. (NF - The Captain's Table novel: Once Burned)
