Murakami IX

Murakami IX was a planet, the ninth planet of the Murakami system, located in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

It had a breathable atmosphere. Portions of the surface were barren, but had labyrinthine caverns.

In 2277, the Manarkites who had taken over the USS Enterprise diverted the ship to Murakami IX, beamed down to the surface and took refuge in the caves, having shut down the engines so that the ship's orbit would decay, killing the real crew. Instead, the Manarkites were captured and the Enterprise was saved. (TOS comic: "Taking Shape")
