My Bear was the name of young Kestra Troi's favorite toy, a teddy bear that her father Ian Troi gave her for her fourth birthday. The bear had floppy arms and legs, a tiny smile and wide brown eyes. Kestra simply referred to the toy as "My Bear", and the name stuck.
Following Kestra's accidental death by drowning, Ian gave My Bear to shipmate Wai-Lin Li to give to her daughter. (ST - The Lost Era novel: The Art of the Impossible)
