Mygdalus III

Mygdalus III was a planet located somewhere in the space of the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants, the third planet in orbit of the Mygdalus star system.

History and specifics[]

Mygdalus III was the homeworld of the Mygdalian civilization.

In 2270, the USS Enterprise traveled to Mygdalus III for the third visit relating to the planet's induction into the United Federation of Planets. While there, the crew became caught in the middle of a dispute between the Mygdalians and the Virtili but helped them bring about a resolution. Later that year, the Enterprise returned to Mygdalus III to investigate the existence of a duplicate of Lieutenant Jason Thompson, who had been found on board an Orion cruiser which had recently been in the Mygdalus system. They discovered a facility containing thousands of transporter duplicates of Thompsons, Klingons and Gorn being held in stasis, the source of the Mygdalians' advanced medical science. They rescued the Thompson duplicates and offered the Mygdalians help if they stopped this practice. (TOS - Burden of Knowledge comic: "The Burden of Knowledge")
