The N'Kaam class was a 25th century Lukari starship type, a tier 5-rated scout ship class in Lukari Concordium and Khitomer Alliance service in the 2410s decade. The N'Kaam originated as a smaller variant of the Ho'kuun-class science vessel. (STO website: Reckoning: Tzenkethi Lock Box and Lobi Ships Stats!)

History and technical specifications[]

The N'Kaam class was a small, compact spacecraft. It consisted of a flat, saucer-shaped hull, with an engine ring around its circumference. Its design was the result of the state-of-the-art Ho'kuun-class development. The N'Kaam class was available to the rest of the Khitomer Alliance and entered service during the Tzenkethi Crusade in the year 2410. (STO website: Reckoning: The Tzenkethi Lock Box!)

The N'Kaam class was equipped with multiple advanced systems and weapons, all rated mark X. Weaponry was based on phaser beams and photon torpedoes. Dedicated fore weapons consisted of a phaser dual beam bank, a phaser beam array and a photon torpedo launcher. Aft weapons included a pair of phaser beam arrays and a single photon torpedo launcher. Additional equipment included a shield array, deflector array, impulse engines, matter anti-matter warp core and a deteriorating secondary deflector. (STO - Reckoning mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

Cloaking was not an innate ability but could be achieved with the installation of a cloaking device. Besides the commanding officer, bridge officer stations accommodated a science officer holding the rank of commander, plus four officers of any department, including a lieutenant commander, two lieutenants and one ensign. (STO website: Reckoning: Tzenkethi Lock Box and Lobi Ships Stats!)

As an Alliance scout ship, the N'Kaam class combined the secondary deflector, sensor analysis and subsystem targeting traits of science vessels with the raider flanking maneuverability of raiders. By default, ships of the class carried the LSS name prefix typical of Lukari Concordium starships. (STO - Reckoning mission: "Welcome to Earth Spacedock")

In 2410, the LSS Jaaleet was one of four ships in the Lukari expeditionary force investigating a spatial rift to the Mycelial Network in the Kern system. While the LSS Treluun and LSS Vuut became stuck in the rift, House Mo'Kai marauders attacked the Lukari. Captain Kuumaarke of the LSS Reskava dispatched a distress call, which was promptly answered by a comrade-in-arms of her of the Khitomer Alliance. The Alliance forces jointly destroyed the Mo'Kai marauders and recovered the pair of trapped Dranuur-class scout ships and closed the rift before fending off the final waves of House Mo'Kai forces. (STO - J'Ula's Discovery mission: "Rescue and Search")

In 2411, Admiral Kuumaarke was assigned to the Jaaleet during a Lukari Restoration Initiative assignment in the Balancar sector when the N'Kaam-class ship suffered the same anomaly previously experienced by the Dranuur-class Treluun. (STO - Kings & Queens short story: "Kings & Queens – The Anomaly")
