History

In the 2250, this ship's dilithium scrubbers failed and the ship sent a distress signal that was received by a civilian freighter. Its engineer, Montgomery Scott was able to temporarily repair the damage. The captain was impressed by his engineering skills and told him how not even her chief engineer had been able to solve the problem. She wanted to see Scott in Starfleet and promised to put in a word for him to her old friend Commander Alexander Marcus at the Starfleet Academy. (TOS comic: "IDW Star Trek, Issue 19")
