For other uses, see USS Ahwahnee.

The USS Ahwahnee (NCC-2048) was a 23rd century Federation starship, a Constitution-class heavy cruiser in service to Starfleet in the 2290s decade. Her name originated from a Native American word for the Yosemite Valley.

Service history and disposition[]

In the year 2293, the Ahwahnee was commanded by D. Tathwell, and was on a deep space mission in Sector 21835. The Ahwahnee was proposed to be part of the fleet to rescue Captain James T. Kirk and Doctor Leonard McCoy in Operation Retrieve, which was vetoed by the Federation President Ra-ghoratreii. (TOS movie: The Undiscovered Country)

In the mid-24th century, this ship was no longer in service, having been succeeded in name by the Cheyenne-class USS Ahwahnee by the 2350s. (ST video game: Starship Creator)

Background[]
