NGC 4414 as seen from Starbase 612
NGC 4414 was a galaxy that is visible form Earth in the Coma Berenices constellation. (TNG novel: Indistinguishable from Magic) The galaxy was also visible from the Starbase 612 sector around 2376. (ST video game: Armada mission Dark Omens)
History[]
In 2370, the USS Hera was caught in a trans-slipstream wake and hurled to a rogue planet in NGC 4414. The survivors determined their location with astronometrical equipment salvaged from the Hera.
In 2383, the USS Challenger stranded outside a galaxy and an away team reached the rogue world through the Hera. The IRW Tomalak's Fist rescued the survivors of the two Federation starships and returned with them to the Milky Way Galaxy with the help of a trans-slipstream-capable creature.
