The NI-0064[1] was a 23rd century Federation Starfleet starship, a Nimrod-class[1] strike cruiser[2] in Starfleet Intelligence[2] and Section 31 service in the 2250s decade. (DSC Collection Issue 28: "Section 31 Nimrod-class")

Service history and disposition[]

Starfleet Intelligence launched and operated the Nimrod class in the year 2250. (Star Trek Adventures RPG module: Discovery (2256-2258) Campaign Guide)

The ship's name consisted the NI registry number prefix followed by a numeric sequence. (DSC Collection Issue 28: "Section 31 Nimrod-class")

This vessel fell under the sway of the artificial intelligence Control masquerading as Leland of Section 31 in 2257. (DSC episode: "Such Sweet Sorrow")

After assimilating Captain Leland, Control transferred its flag from the smaller Turing-class starship NCIA-93 to the larger NI-0064. (DSC Collection Issue 28: "Section 31 Nimrod-class")

Control, commanding a fleet of Section 31 carrier vessels equipped with Section 31 drones, set course to confront the Starfleet ships USS Enterprise and USS Discovery. Control sought to claim the sphere data contained in the Discovery computer in order to achieve sentience. On stardate 1051.8 in the year 2258[4], the Section 31 fleet engaged in the Battle near Xahea against the Starfleet ships and their Klingon Empire, Kelpien and Xahean allies. During the battle, Philippa Georgiou disabled Control's nanotechnology, which rendered the Section 31 fleet inert. Captain Christopher Pike had the Enterprise fire on the disabled fleet, destroying all the Section 31 ships. (DSC episode: "Such Sweet Sorrow")
