The NX-Beta was Earth's second NX prototype test ship, active in the 2140s. Its exterior design shared many similarities with Earth's first warp prototype, the Phoenix.

History[]

In the year 2143, the NX-Beta was launched in secret by Commanders Jonathan Archer and A.G. Robinson from a ground-based facility to prove that humanity was capable of building fast warp ships and she was the first Earth ship to attain warp 2.5, and survived. It made it back to Earth safely. (ENT episode: "First Flight", ST reference: Ships of the Line)
