Na'kuhl star

The dead star Na'kuhl in 2410.

Na'kuhl was a star with an associated star system. The planet Na'kuhl Prime was the homeworld of the Na'kuhl civilization. It was located in the Tzenketh sector of the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. (STO - Future Proof mission: "Stormbound")

History[]

Na'kuhl Prime 2410

Na'kuhl Prime and its star following the attack.

In the year 2410, the Tholian Assembly tested the Tox Uthat, a Federation quantum inhibitor from the 27th century, on Na'kuhl. The device, stolen from the scientist Kal Dano, stopped the fusion in the star. Without its central star, Na'kuhl Prime became unable to support its class M conditions. The Na'kuhl blamed the Federation for letting their technology fall into the Tholians' hands. The Na'kuhl ambassador refused aid by the Khitomer Alliance, which the Federation was a member of. (STO - Future Proof mission: "Stormbound")

Administrator Kuumaarke of the Lukari Concordium travelled aboard the USS Defiant to the Na'kuhl system and offered to re-ignite the star. The Na'kuhl rejected the Lukari offer. (STO - Post War short story: "Back Channels")

In 2411, the Na'kuhl permitted the Khitomer Alliance to attempt to reignite their star. The effort was led by the newly promoted Admiral Kuumaarke. The effort was interrupted by the Tholians, who worked on containing a reality vortex that had formed near the star. The events led to combat between Na'kuhl, Alliance and Tholian forces. Ultimately, the Na'kuhl accepted that the Tholians had resolved a threat to the Na'kuhl by closign the reality vortex. (STO - Kings & Queens mission: "Wish Upon A Star")

By the 28th century, the Na'kuhl civilization had endured but representatives viewed that their people had been reduced to refugees and the dregs of the galaxy. They lobbied for undoing the attack on their sun to the Galactic Union but were denied. The Temporal Accords, signed at New Khitomer in the year 2769, regulated time travel but did not allow for the restoration of Na'kuhl. (STO - Future Proof mission: "Time and Tide")

In the 29th century, Na'kuhl had taken on the characteristics of a brown dwarf with the spectral class Y. By the 2880s, this system had not been inhabited for decades. On stardate 560703.48 in the year 2883, the USS Pastak and its 25th century escort took readings of the star and its revised classification. (STO - Future Proof mission: "The Temporal Front")

By the 31st century, Na'kuhl had been reignited, Na'kuhl Prime restored and the Na'kuhl had become Federation members. (STO - Agents of Yesterday short story: "No Profit But The Name")
