See Nakamura for other articles with titles that contain, either by relationship or by coincidence, this character's surname.

Captain Nakamura was a Starfleet officer who commanded the USS Carolina in the early 2250s.

In 2251, Nakamura and the Carolina were ordered to represent the Federation at a diplomatic event in the Beta Bora system. However, Captain Rollin Bannock and the USS Republic were assigned to the mission in their place, when Nakamura was given more critical duties. (TOS - My Brother's Keeper novel: Republic)
