The Nalaingers were a sentient alien civilization that were native to the planet Nalaing, somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants.

History and specifics[]

Biology[]

Nalainger were humanoids that had the blue complexion of Andorians, minus the antennae, and a tuft of wiry violet hair sprouting up from the top of their heads.

History[]

The Nalaingers were allies of the Goeg Domain, under pressure from the Goeg to fight against the Taarpi insurrectionist movement. The Nalaingers provided their world of Nalaing as a safe haven for the Taarpi insurrectionists due to their neutrality.

In the year 2267, the Goeg Domain starvessel 814 came to Nalaing and detonated a stolen Federation photon torpedo above the the Nalaingers homeworld's atmosphere, threatening to denotate another one inside the atmosphere should the Nalaingers refuse to surrender all Taarpi and their supporters they harbored. The USS Enterprise warped in and put itself in the line of fire when the 814 fired at the planet, and a battle ensued. Following a mutiny on the 814, Commander Laspas refused to take any other genocidal action against the Nalaingers.

The grateful Nalaing government arranged a meeting between Enterprise's commanding officer, Captain James T. Kirk, and the Emissary of the Urpire Curia, Kikkikizz. Kirk refused military support by the Federation but suggested subtler strategies to bring about a change in the ways of the Goeg Domain.
