Namtac the Tardy was an Orion and an admiral in the Orion Space Navy in the mid-23rd century
As the Klingons retreated before the advancing Starfleet forces in the Four Years War, Admiral Namtac the Tardy reported on reference stardate 1/9804.16 (c. 2256) that all Klingons and their starships had indeed left the Rigel system following the Night of Empty Hands. He also determined that Starfleet forces had skipped Rigel to pursue the Klingon forces. Upon this news, a Space Navy squadron was sent to welcome the Starfleet ships with the news that Rigel was free, but they didn't return or communicate, and tensions rose.
