The Nasari combat ship[2] was a 24th century Delta Quadrant starship class, an attack/interceptor craft[2] in Nasari military service in the 2370s decade. (VOY episode: "Favorite Son")
Technical data[]
The hull of the ship resembled that of a 24th century Romulan Science-class research vessel, although fore and aft were reversed. While the Romulan ship was green in color, the Nasari starship was brown. (TNG episode: "The Next Phase")
A vessel of this class was 1/5th the length of a Federation Intrepid-class starship, thus measuring circa 69 meters in length. (Fact Files Issue 88: "File 40 Card 48 The Nerada")
A trio of Nasari combat ships were no match for either an Intrepid nor a Taresian starship. (VOY episode: "Favorite Son")
The wing design indicated atmospheric travel capability. The defense system consisted of standard shields. The weapon systems were twin forward directed energy weapon projectors and aft-mounted energy bolt launcher. The aft weapon launcher fired similar armaments to the forward mounted weapons. (Fact Files Issue 88: "File 40 Card 48 The Nerada")
Ships of this class were capable of arming their weapons in secret by disguising their tetryon emissions as an engine byproduct. (VOY episode: "Favorite Son")
Service history[]
In the 2370s, the Nasari deployed these starships in their war with the Taresians.
In the year 2373, the Nerada attempted to attack the Federation starship USS Voyager. Ensign Harry Kim, who had been infected with a Taresian retrovirus, intuited Captain Alben's ploy and commandeered the phasers to disable the Nerada.
The Nerada returned with a pair of sister ships to attack Voyager and maintain their blockade of Taresia. The trio of combat ships were repelled by a Taresian starship, Lyris' patrol ship. (VOY episode: "Favorite Son")
