This character is a member of the McCoy family.

Natira was a Fabrini woman who served as High Priestess for the people of Yonada in the final stages of the worldship's voyage to Daran IV. Aboard Yonada, it was Natira's responsibility to consult the "Oracle of the People" for guidance for her people.

As a girl, Natira often questioned the teachings of the Oracle, and her father would encourage this despite the pain that the Instruments of Obedience would cause when the Oracle detected that he was doing so. One day, her father was unable to remain silent, and attempted to tell Natira the truth before the Oracle used the Instrument to kill him. Afterwards, Natira dedicated herself to the Oracle, becoming the youngest Priestess ever (TOS novel: Ex Machina)

In 2268, Yonada was discovered by the USS Enterprise and it was revealed that Yonada was on a collision course with Daran V. Natira fell in love with one member of the Enterprise landing party, Dr. Leonard McCoy, and he decided he wanted to remain on Yonada with Natira. In order to do so, McCoy accepted the "instrument of obedience", an instrument that allowed the "Oracle" to control the thoughts and actions of the worldship's inhabitants.

When McCoy was able to learn where Yonada's control instruments were, he was shocked by the "Oracle" to stop him informing the Enterprise. However, with some reluctant help from Natira, Captain James T. Kirk and Commander Spock were able to disable the "Oracle" and alter Yonada's course back to its original heading. McCoy left Yonada with the Enterprise but he vowed that he would be back to see Natira when Yonada reached its destination. (TOS episode: "For the World is Hollow and I Have Touched the Sky")

When Yonada reached orbit of Daran IV in 2270, Natira continued to serve as representative for her people as Governess of the Promised World Lorina. Despite making progress in establishing of the Lorina colony on Daran IV, Natira was often reviled against because of receiving Federation assistance, and many performed acts of outright rebellion as they believed that the "Oracle" could remove all of the problems of establishing the colony.

After a number of terrorist acts - which including suicide bombing, Natira requested assistance from McCoy and the Enterprise. Captain Kirk was able to help bring Natira and the High Priestess Rishala together, while defeating the most extreme elements present in the Lorina colony. (TOS novel: Ex Machina)

By the 24th century, Natira served as the planet New Fabrina's ambassador to the Federation in the 2360s decade. (ST reference: The Worlds of the Federation)
