"A Mirror for Futility" LP cover by Adams.

Neal Adams (June 1941-28 April 2022) was a comic artist known for a distinctive style of illustration, well known for work at Marvel Comics and DC Comics from the 1970s. For Star Trek, Adams illustrated or completed inking art for vintage Peter Pan Records Star Trek stories, and returned many years later with a variant cover from the 2015 Star Trek—Green Lantern crossover first issue, "The Spectrum War, Issue 1".

History and specifics[]

Adams was known for adding a modern look to the 1970s Green Lantern/Green Arrow series, which explored more mature themes than had been typical in comics before that point in time. Neal Adams would also add his style to modernization of the Batman line of books, setting the tone for how Batman would look for decades to follow. Adams was the visual creator of the look of the characters Ra's al Ghul and Talia, among many others.

Neal Adams died in 2022 at the age of 80.
