Nembitol was one of the drugs used to cure cancer diseases in the 24th century, the other being solicyclin.
In the year 2342, nembitol was tested as a potential cure for the Rot, but proved to be ineffective. The results were published in the Journal of Applied Sciences, volume 83, issue #9. (TNG novel: Strike Zone)
