Nerok class scout (upper quarter view).
The Nerok class scout was a type of starship used by the Cardassian Union.
These ships were usually exploration craft which would find new systems and planets for the Cardassian people. However, they could easily be retrofitted for a more war-like purpose. When done so, these ships were used usually as raiders where they would strike into enemy lines before retreating. The same sensors that aided this craft in its exploratory duties also allowed this craft to be an excellent interceptor allowing it to find and track enemy starships.
Despite later improvements in the type II model, these ships would never be treated as warships and were seen, at best, by their commanders as mobile sensor platforms.
