History and specifics[]

In the 23rd century, the city was known for its artists and its unique sculptures. (TOS - Crucible novel: The Fire and the Rose)

It hosted a variety of art exhibits in the 23rd century. Ensign Mai Duyen Trinh recalled it being a beautiful city. (TLE novel: Deny Thy Father)

An archeological dig on the outskirts of the city unearthed a previously undiscovered burial chamber. Trinh's husband Luke suffered a traumatic brain injury when the cavern's surface crumbled, and he died nine months later. (TOS novel: Allegiance in Exile)

In the year 2293, the Bureau of Interplanetary Affairs displayed sculptures from New Dakar in the reception area of their headquarters on Rigel IV. (TOS - Crucible novel: The Fire and the Rose)
