New England was a region in the eastern portion of the United States of America on the planet Earth's North American continent.

History and specifics[]

It is generally reckoned by Human inhabitants to include the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island, and by some less common definitions included some adjacent areas of New York. (TOS novel: Mission to Horatius)

Starfleet Commander Gabriel Bush was from an unspecified location in New England, and cultivated his strong use of the regional accent as a personal affectation. (TNG novel: Ship of the Line)
