New Orleans is a city of the North American continent on Earth, located in the United States of America state of Louisiana.
History and specifics[]
A major seaport, the city was located at the mouth of the Mississippi River, the longest river of the North American continent. The city is the namesake of the USS New Orleans and the New Orleans-class of Starfleet starships.
The 19th century gambler Frederick La Rouque was born in New Orleans. (TNG episode: "Time's Arrow, Part I")

New Orleans was the birthplace of Benjamin Sisko, and the location of Sisko's Creole Kitchen, owned and operated by Sisko's father, Joseph Sisko. (DS9 episodes: "Equilibrium", "Family Business", "Homefront", "Paradise Lost")
