New Talax, also known as New Talax V, was a planet in the New Talax system, located in the Kotaba sector of the Vyntadi sector block in the Delta Quadrant. In early 2410, the formerly uninhabited world was colonized by the Talaxian diaspora. (STO - Delta Quadrant mission: "Reunion")

History[]

Searching for a suitable planet for colonization for years, the Talaxians of the Entaba system surveyed New Talax in early 2410 and prepared to settle the world.

In the interim, Malon Controller Selvk discovered the system and found it an ideal dumping ground for theta radiation because of the proximity of a neutron star.

A few weeks after the initial survey, Ambassador Neelix led a colonization fleet from the Entaba system to New Talax and found the planet's orbit inundated with fresh radiation. An Alpha Quadrant Alliance starship escorted the Talaxian fleet and asked Selvk to find a new dumping ground, as the system was already claimed by the Talaxians. Selvk refused, and the AQA starship defeated the attacking Malon vessels. With the damage he suffered, Controller Selvk now found New Talax to be an unprofitable dumping ground, and his ships departed.

The Talaxians began to colonize their new homeworld and were grateful for the AQA assistance. Commander Aidan Burgess of Starfleet Intelligence and Delta Command dispatched more AQA starships to protect New Talax from further Malon interference. (STO - Delta Quadrant mission: "Reunion")
