Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

A friendly reminder regarding spoilers! At present the expanded Trek universe is in a period of major upheaval with the continuations of Discovery and Prodigy, the advent of new eras in gaming with the Star Trek Adventures RPG, Star Trek: Infinite and Star Trek Online, as well as other post-57th Anniversary publications such as the ongoing IDW Star Trek comic and spin-off Star Trek: Defiant. Therefore, please be courteous to other users who may not be aware of current developments by using the {{spoiler}}, {{spoilers}} OR {{majorspoiler}} tags when adding new information from sources less than six months old (even if it is minor info). Also, please do not include details in the summary bar when editing pages and do not anticipate making additions relating to sources not yet in release. THANK YOU

New User Help
This page is intended to assist in the orientation of new users, to answer simple questions, and to provide a clear place for initiating two-way communications between new and more experienced users.

Once users become acquainted with how to communicate with other users, discussions should
be moved to Ten Forward, article Talk pages, or other more appropriate place.

Hi, and welcome to Memory Beta, a wikified encyclopedia for licensed Star Trek works! New Users and Unregistered users are encouraged to check in here for help with "newbie" questions and/or to learn how to engage others in two-way communication here. --Emperorkalan 01:02, 8 April 2007 (UTC)

I figure this question is good for this page. Is there a way to put a space in my username? I didn't realize I could have them when I signed up, and I'd like to have my user page ("Data Noh") match my name... so my signature's not broken --> Data Noh 15:03, 17 April 2007 (UTC)

I think 8of5 or The Doctor would be the most help answering that. If they don't post here within a few days, try asking them on their user pages.--Emperorkalan 14:23, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

More newbie-ish questions! First, is it ok to upload a single image for my user page (i.e. a photo of me or something else personal)? Or should any image on the user page be from elsewhere on the wiki? Second, is there discussion of featured and community articles going on somewhere secretive, or just not at all? I've tried any link I could find, and all discussion is at least several months old and does not mention the current selections. Thanks for your time! -- Data Noh 12:56, 19 April 2007 (UTC)

Any image you upload is available for use anywhere in the wiki. If it's something with inherently limited usage (like a photo of yourself), you might want to ask yourself just what does it add to the wiki. Assuming after that you still want to post it, I would suggest keeping the file size small. As for Featured Articles, look here: Project:Nominations for featured articles, and for Community articles here: Project:Community article. Again, The Doctor and 8of5 are the most active with those pages, so querying them on their user talk pages would be your best bet. They probably wouldn't mind the help.--Emperorkalan 14:23, 19 April 2007 (UTC)
