Newton Outpost was a Federation and Starfleet scientific research facility. It was located on a shepherd moon within the rings of Larrisint IV.
In 2385, a possible Changeling was brought to Newton Outpost after the crew of the USS Nova discovered it at Capricorn Arday. Odo was later invited to Newton Outpost to help communicate with the entity. (DS9 novel: Sacraments of Fire)
