The Niatoko were a reptilian humanoid species from the planet Niatok in the galaxy's Alpha Quadrant. In the 23rd century, they were members of the First Federation. (TOS novel: The Face of the Unknown)

The Niatoko had lost their homeworld to the Dassik or another catastrophe, becoming refugees in the process. At some point between 12 milennia ago and the 23rd century, they joined the First Federation on Cherela.
On stardate 5361.7 (2269), Humans and the Vulcan Spock first encountered the Niatoko in the Web of Worlds in the skies of Cherela. A First Federation protector accompanied Ambassador David Bailey to the prison where Commander Balok was being incarcerated and tortured. (TOS novel: The Face of the Unknown)
