Nicaragua was a nation in Central America on Earth. It was bordered by Honduras to the north, the Caribbean Sea to the east, Costa Rica to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the west.

According to Khan Noonien Singh, in September 1992 Augment Dictator Alexander Newton annexed Nicaragua into the North American Coalition. By 1996, Augment infighting led to Nicaragua becoming part of Newton's New American Empire. By the end of 1996, the Augment dictatorships were overthrown. (TOS - Khan comics: "Issue 2", "Issue 3")
