Nicholas Meyer (1945- ) is the director of two TOS movies and co-writer of three. In 1991, he penned an introduction for DC Comics' omnibus The Best of Star Trek.

Outside of Star Trek, Meyer is probably best known for his contributions to the canon of Sherlock Holmes, having written four novels and a screenplay starring Laurence Olivier as Professor James Moriarty. He also directed the time travel adventure Time After Time featuring H.G. Wells and Jack the Ripper, as well as the nuclear holocaust TV movie The Day After.
