Enterprise Spock nightmare

Spock's nightmare vision in 2259.

A nightmare was a bad dream.

History and specifics[]

In 2259, Spock had a recurring nightmare of his parents dying and the USS Enterprise being destroyed. (TOS - Countdown to Darkness comic: "Number One")

In 2266, Janice Rand called the sight of a giant tree fighting a cannibal plant on K-G "a living nightmare." Captain Kirk later referred to a jungle as a "green nightmare." (TOS comic: "The Planet of No Return")

Leonard McCoy commented that he'd had nightmares that looked more harmless than Hilliard did. (TOS comic: "Museum at the End of Time")

In 2267, Susan compared the de-aging of her fellow USS Enterprise crewmembers to a nightmare. (TOS comic: "The Youth Trap")

In the aftermath of the V'ger incident in 2273, Hikaru Sulu had recurring nightmares about V'ger. In one, the USS Constellation, USS Exeter, USS Lexington, and USS Yorktown were destroyed by V'ger, which then targeted the Enterprise, sending the starship plummeting through Earth's atmosphere, where Sulu could see the ruins of San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge before he awoke screaming in Susan Ling's apartment. (TOS eBook: Shadow of the Machine)
