The Nihydron were a spacefaring species native to the Delta Quadrant. They were humanoids with rouge-colored waxy skin, small translucent eyes, wide noses and thin-lipped mouths. Their foreheads had two large, rounded protrusions. (VOY novel: A Pocket Full of Lies)

Nihydron territory was known to be near the Krenim Imperium. (VOY episodes: "Year of Hell, Part I", "Year of Hell, Part II")

History[]

The Zahl and the Rilnar fought for control over the planet Sormana long before the Nihydron became a starfaring people. (VOY novel: A Pocket Full of Lies)

During the early 25th century, following the threat posed by the Vaadwaur Supremacy, the Nihydron, alongside with the Krenim Imperium, Zahl and the Mawasi, formed an alliance in order to create a unified front against the Supremacy's offensive. This alliance was named the Krenim Coalition. The Nihydron, as all the other Coalition members, shared several technological equipments with each other. (STO video game: The Iconian War)

Technology[]

By 2374, the Nihydron were already warp-capable for a considerably long time, and had starships with capabilities similar to the USS Voyager, equipped with beam energy weapons of unknown origin. By the 25th century, the Nihydron destroyer became the standard destroyer for the Krenim Coalition, and shortly after was also shared with the Alpha Quadrant Alliance after the beginning of the Iconian War. in that period was armed with temporal weaponry.
