Nilva was a Ferengi man who lived in the 24th century.

Biography[]

In the 2370s decade he was a commissioner in the Ferengi Commerce Authority and was the chairman of the Slug-o-Cola company. He is known to many for being one of the most successful people in the Ferengi Alliance and has also appeared in many advertisements.

In the year 2374, the briefly deposed Grand Nagus Zek invited Nilva to Starbase Deep Space 9 to meet with Ishka, who planned to convince him of the lucrative opportunity that allowing Ferengi females to spend and buy would mean to the economy, especially Slug-o-Cola, which was experiencing fierce competition from Eelwasser. After Ishka had a heart attack and was incapacitated, Quark was surgically altered to appear female, known as Lumba. Nilva was convinced that Quark was female and agreed to support Zek's return and the establishment of the female right to make profit. (DS9 episode: "Profit and Lace")

By 2376, in the First Splinter timeline, Nilva had become a member of the Economic Congress while still holding the job of chairman of Slug-o-Cola. In that year, Nilva supported Brunt's accession to the Congress, though he disavowed him once it was learned Brunt had forged a Ferengi contract. (DS9 - Worlds of DS9 - Volume Three novel: Ferenginar: Satisfaction is Not Guaranteed)

Nilva had a daughter named Karov. (ST - Aliens comic: "Ferengi")
