Memory Beta, non-canon Star Trek Wiki

Nirula, also known as Nir, was a female Orion that served as a cadet within Starfleet Academy, where she studied at the same time as the future Captain Jean-Luc Picard, who shared the same classes as her. While classmates, Nir served as tactical officer onboard the USS Artemis when Picard captained the vessel for their evasive maneuvers exam.

Biography[]

School years[]

An Orion female, Nirula — who was otherwise addressed as "Nir", a hypocoristic version of her name — decided to pursue a career within the United Federation of Planets and enrolled to become a commissioned officer in Starfleet, becoming a cadet inside their elite training programme in San Francisco. During her studies, Nir befriended a Bolian classmate named K'ccyt, who shared a number of the same qualities that she possessed, including their large builds and frequent visitations to the local gym.
