The Nizhrak (plural Nizhrak'a) were a type of sapient alien lifeform, a civilization native to the gas giant Nizhara located somewhere in the galaxy's Alpha or Beta Quadrants. They were low-density lifeforms consisting of a cloud of ionic particles held together by psychokinesis. Nizhrak'a could be as large as a starship, but had the ability to condense themselves in order to fit inside a containment suit.
Ensign Jiterica was the first Nizhrak in Starfleet and served as a junior science officer aboard the USS Stargazer. (STA novel: Oblivion)
