Nomad class (cruiser)

The Nomad-class was a class of star cruiser in use by the Federation Starfleet in the early 25th century. It was an advanced variant of the Sentinel-class. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)

History[]

In 2409 two Nomad-class vessels, USS Crazy Horse and USS Laub, took part in a battle in the Imaga system against Klingon Defense Force vessels under Ambassador B'vat. They were able to keep the Klingons busy long enough for a Starfleet-piloted B'rel-class bird-of-prey to destroy a doomsday machine under B'vat's control with hargh'peng torpedoes. Like its predecessor the Nomad-class was designed to serve as the flagship of fleets or as support on complex missions.

The Nomad-class had slightly stronger armor and deflector shields than the Sentinel-class and could fit additional scientific equipment. It was in all other respects effectively identical in performance. (ST video game: Star Trek Online)
